In the heart of the Eastern Pyrenees of Catalonia, in the Alt Empordà region, this valley, located in the upper basin of the Muga River combines great biodiversity with unique landscapes, playing a key role in regional sustainability. However, it faces growing challenges such as drought and forest fires, aggravated by climate change.
The PROMACC Climate Credit project in La Muga, promoted by the Pioneers of Our Time Foundation, was created to address these threats. This innovative model is committed to the regeneration of forests and ecosystems, positioning the valley as a benchmark in territorial sustainability and water management.
